Painted around 1340, these illustrate the almost perpetual state of conflict between the Ghibeline, or pro-Holy Roman Empire,
family of Castelbarco who held Sabbionara and the Guelph, or pro-Papacy, forces of the neighbouring Bishop of Trento.
