This manuscript contains two chronicles by an anonymous author, in Latin and Italian, concerning the Carrara family who ruled Padua from 1318 to 1406. It was dedicated to Francesco Novello da Carrara, and it is decorated with four miniatures executed in Padua.

Jacopo da Carrara is represented on folio 1v as he draws his sword against Ezzellino da Romano in front of Frederick II in 1237.
