Presumably, the corporal is from the right flank company because of the red top. The jacket seems to have a fake pocket flap above the working pocket flap. The chevrons are French oblique style. The sabre tassel and cord are red, white and blue. Presumably the artist, when drawing from his sketches, was mistaken. This soldier is wearing the prescribed shako.
