This version 2.4 contains the files needed for the Schleiz, Saalfeld, Jena, Auerstaedt & Nordhausen battle packs for ANGV, using 1 set of files for either ANGV v1 or v2. I suggest version 1 as this will use the fog files in early morning battles (fog does not dissapear in v2) and there are no extra infantry graphics to be used by v2. zip files required: StandardANGVsoldiersRepairedV1_7.zip or later version WaterlooBuildingsRepaired.zip (The only new building in ANGV is Sokolnitz) GenericANGVScreens1_4.zip or later version 1806ANGVmusic.zip 1806ANGVvideo.zip 1806ANGVgraphicsV2_3.zip or later 1806ANGVmainV2_4.zip & ModdedANGVExe.zip for play under ANGV v1 and the ANGV v2.001 patch. Note: If your operating system is set to the default of not displaying common file extensions, you will not see .exe, .zip or .bmp file extensions. The unusual .bag & .bm2 file extensions should be seen. If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, see http://greatestbattlesforum.yuku.com/topic/734/Batch-Files-Windows-7 Make a copy or new installation of ANGV (see the info on shortcuts below). Rename the folder 1806ANGV. Add the files from the ANGV v2.001 patch, but not necessarily the austerlitz.exe file if you intend to play using v1. Unzip StandardANGVsoldiersRepairedV1_X.zip, WaterlooBuildingsRepaired.zip, GenericANGVScreens1_X.zip, 1806ANGVmusic.zip, 1806ANGVvideo.zip, 1806ANGVgraphicsV2_3.zip & 1806ANGVmainV2_4.zip into the 1806ANGV folder, in that order, with "use folder names" and "overwrite existing files" checked. Double click on Copy1806scenmaps.bat in the WaterAux sub folder of the graphics folder, to make copies of the scenmaps for each scenario. Double click on CopyGermanToRussian.bat in the Sound folder, to copy the German voices over the Russian voices. Add all the files in the WaterAux folder to WaterAux.bag in the graphics folder, using bagboy - bagboy10.exe in the Austerlitz folder of an installation of ANGV. Install it by double clicking on bagboy10.exe and following the installation wizard prompts. If you have bagboy installed, double click on WaterAux.bag, navigate to the folder containing the files to be added, click on the 1st file, scroll to the last, hold down 'shift' and click on the last to select them all. Click 'Open'. Delete the WaterAux folder. Add all the .BMP files in the WaterMap folder to WaterMap.bag in the graphics folder. Delete the WaterMap folder. Add all the .BMP files in the WaterMisc folder to WaterMisc.bag in the graphics folder. Delete the WaterMisc folder. Add all the .BMP files in the WaterArmy folder to WaterArmy.bag in the graphics folder. Delete the WaterArmy folder. This can be played using modded version 1 or unmodded versions 2 ANGV. Version 2 is not necessarily better than modded version 1. Version 2 does not have working fog, sunset & sunrise are always for Winter in Bohemia, jump maps must be stretched to fit the standard size and the number of loading screens can't be set to the number available for a mod. It does have extra features but none are used for this mod. V1 To install for v1, Unzip ModdedANGVExe.zip into the 1806ANGV folder, overwriting files. This contains Austerlitz.exe (which includes the UniPatch which adds extra features and gets rid of Sokolnitz) & JPIEXAe.dll (which is needed for the UniPatch to work). Apply the Artillery patch (AustArtyPatch.exe) if you wish to choose the effect of artillery. V2 To install for v2, add the austerlitz.exe from the v2.001 patch (but not the labels file). Copy & paste the config files from the v2 sub folder of the MapData folder to the MapData folder, overwriting files. (These use squeezed JumpMaps for the larger battlefields and/or do not use fog, as fog does not clear in v2). Extract the files from the WaterAux.bag as .BM2 files in the graphics folder (with bagboy installed, double click on WaterAux.bag). Extract the files from the WaterMisc.bag as .BM2 files in the graphics folder or at least frozenFlags.bm2, inactiveFlags.bm2, outlineFlag4.bm2 & selectedFlags.bm2 which are used from Watermisc.bag in v1, but from the graphics folder in v2. There are individual fort offset files for each mod that are used in v2. SHORTCUTS There are 5 shortcuts in the main folder that include the campaign numbers for the 5 maps. They presently point at C:\GAMES\1806ANGV\Austerlitz.exe -campaign xx These will need to be edited (right click/properties) to point elsewhere unless this is your chosen folder setup. They can be cut and pasted onto the desktop. the campaign numbers used are: campaign=24 Schleiz campaign=27 Saalfeld campaign=28 Jena campaign=29 Auerstaedt campaign=34 Nordhausen campaign=70 Iena by Dolokhov If the shortcuts do not work edit the austerlitz.ini file using notepad or wordpad to the campaign=number you wish to play. The v1 sub folder has config files to allow a change back to v1. OLD GUARD If you wish to have French Old Guard graphics for Jena, load the 102 files into WaterArmy.bag (from the graphics folder or use those modified for Marengo - found in StandardANGVsoldiersRepairedV1_7.zip or later version) and copy and paste the OOB files from the "JenaWithOldGuard" folder to the 1806ANGV folder. Graeme http://warfare.cf/Greatest_Battles/Greatest_Battles.htm ****************************************************************************************** Version 2.0 The label file is a v2 standard except that "Russian" has been changed to "Prussian" on line 732. (The v2 label file is the same as the v1 except that lines for user defined guns have been added at the end.) The menu file is from Saalfeld, which is the only mod to have a battle history. The stand files for Infantry 105, 106 & 108 have had the rows placed in the correct order. The run files for 106 & 108 have been changed from 6 rows to 12. The soldier graphics have been cleaned up. There are a few extra cavalry uniforms, French infantry with white gaiters, also used for Prussian Infantry with white lapels. The white Saxon uniforms are also used for French regiments that wore white in 1806-07. There are new mill, town hall and mansion graphics for Jena which had the codes for special buildings, but no graphics for these were included. There is a new castle for Auerstaedt plus bridges over wide rivers, which are now all made from snow ponds. There are fog maps for all 5 battles and a new early start scenario for Saalfeld (for use under v1). Contoured colour maps have been made for all 5 mods. The OBs for Auerstaedt & Schleiz have been modified. Blucher is now a brigade commander with 25 squadrons. The extra allied artillery at Schleiz has been compensated for by giving them only WNLB ammunition levels. Some new portraits have been added. A hats2 file has been created. Other small details have been edited and a couple of variants added. ____________________________________ Version 2.1 1) Prussian Artillery-137artsold.bmp has a new officer in the 1st frame rather than a copy of the bucket carrier. Belts have been moved to the right shoulder & highlights have been changed to blue. Some portraits renumbered to numbers less than 200. ____________________________________ Version 2.2 DARoot's Moraleblock for Saxons is included in the slot for Austria so the OOBs have been changed so Saxon troops have Au rather than Sx & "Austrian" has been changed to "Saxon" in the labels.txt file. Saxon flags by DARoot & animated by G Cook added. 104, 105, 106 & 108 shoot files reordered (the ramming graphics in 104 & 105 have been reconstructed). Saxon artillery have straw coloured breeches. Correct version of Schleiz scenario included. Purple in snow_ponds128.bmp & snow_ponds_edges.bmp has been removed. Extra objectives added to Nordhausen scenario. 1st Prussian flag staff in FlagsAnimated.bm2 edited so that it does not animate up and down. Artillery in the Jena OOB have been given unique ID numbers. This may help for Create/Edit. New fog maps for Jena & Schleiz for use under v1 ANGV. Saxon Grenadiers by DARoot in slot 102 instead of Old Guard. Saxon Hussars changed from shako to Mirliton. New Saxon Carabinier in pale yellow. Spanish Dragoons converted to Beeren Kuirassiers with white plume, black/white cockade & crimson distinctions. Hats edited. Saxon general in red breeches & Prussian general in blue overcoat added. Jena: Windmill added near Krippendorf. Enclosure around Vierzhenheiligen added. A few named sites added & names moved a bit to match terrain. 4th Prussian dragoons made heavy cavalry. Battle history added. 24 Sept 2009 1806ANGVmainV2_2.zip: Saxon Order of St. Henry added to medals.bm2. From http://www.medalnet.net/German_Orders.htm 8 January 2010 1806ANGVmainV2_2.zip: New fog map, colour map & jump map for Nordhausen. 29 March 2010 1806ANGVmainV2_2.zip: Hats pictures for Saxon & Prussian Generals & OOBs changed for these & Saxon Grenadiers. ____________________________________ Version 2.3 16/4/10 A new blue Prussian gun is added. As this is only used by troops with the "Ru" code the Prussians have been changed from "Pr". It was then necessary to have "Prussians" instead of "Russians" in the labels file; a Prussian morale block in place of the Russian; and German voices in the Russian sound files. An available flags file (used by gunners hiding in a square) with Saxons is included. All French flags now have eagles and no flags have large cords so as to be consistent across the types of flag (selected, frozen, inactive etc). New melee files for the modded infantry have been included instead of using a copy of the run file. New Prussian Grenadiers have been made in dark blue with red facings to replace the lighter blue ones with orange facings in the march file but red facings in the others. Extraneous blue in the grey uniform of the French 3rd hussar has been replaced. The French Guard foot artillery graphic has been swapped for Guard French horse artillery. A French Line horse artillery graphic has been added. OOB & hats changes have been made for these. Some other graphics have been cleaned up. Version 2.4 16/4/11 Portraits for Rivaud & Dupont added for variants with Bernadotte's Corps. General 148leaders.bmp renamed from 148eaders.bmp Saxon Chevaulegers realigned. Portrait of Prittwitz added. French Jena Medal & Prussian Pour le Merite added. Dolokhov's version of Iena added. Campaign=70.
