Installation of the Eylau mod for Austerlitz: Napoleon's Greatest Victory. Installing under ANGV v1 Note: If your operating system is set to the default of not displaying common file extensions, you will not see .exe, .zip or .bmp file extensions. The unusual .bag & .bm2 file extensions should be seen. zip files required: ModdedANGVExe.zip GenericANGVScreens1_4.zip or later version StandardANGVsoldiersRepairedV1_6.zip or later version EylauCommonFiles.zip EylauANGV2_3.zip Make a copy of your Austerlitz folder or make a new installation of ANGV. Rename the folder EylauANGV. Unzip ModdedANGVExe.zip into the EylauANGV folder, overwriting files. (This has the unipatch which adds extra features and also gets rid of Sokolnitz). This contains Austerlitz.exe & JPIEXAe.dll (which is needed for the unipatch to work). If using XP or later, right click on Austerlitz.exe and set the properties to Win98 compatibility. Apply the Artillery patch (AustArtyPatch.exe) if you wish to set the effect of artillery. Unzip the other .zip files in the above order into the EylauANGV folder, with "use folder names" and "overwrite existing files" checked and say yes to overwriting any files if asked. Double click on ScenmapCopy.bat in the WaterAux sub folder of the graphics folder, to make copies of the scenario map for each scenario. Add all the files in the WaterAux folder to WaterAux.bag in the graphics folder, using BAGBOY. It is "bagboy10.exe" in the installed ANGV folder. If you don't have the BAGBOY program, you can download it from Davros' site http://users.chariot.net.au/~mab/zips/units.html Install it by double clicking on bagboy10.exe and following the installation wizard prompts. If you have BAGBOY installed, double click on WaterAux.bag, navigate to the WaterAux subfolder, click on the 1st file, scroll to the last, hold down 'shift' and click on the last to select them all. Click 'Open". Close the .bag file. Add all the BMP files (choose BMP from the drip down menu) in the WaterMap folder to WaterMap.bag in the graphics folder. Add all the BMP files files in the WaterMisc folder to WaterMisc.bag in the graphics folder. Add all the BMP files in the WaterArmy folder to WaterArmy.bag in the graphics folder. Run austerlitz.exe from the EylauANGV folder or make a shortcut on the desktop. You can make a shortcut on the desktop by right clicking on austerlitz.exe, "send to" then "Desktop (create shortcut)". When you have had enough Eylau, delete the EylauANGV folder & shortcut, no need to restore. This mod is only set up for modded version 1 ANGV. Version 2 is not necessarily better than modded version 1. Version 2 does not have working fog, sunset & sunrise are always for Winter in Bohemia, jump maps must be stretched to fit the standard size and the number of loading screens can't be set to the number available for a mod. It does have extra features but none are used for this mod. If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, see http://greatestbattlesforum.yuku.com/topic/734/Batch-Files-Windows-7 V2.0 This revised download includes the snow terrain & buildings. This version has extra portraits added to the OBs and scenario intros. See the modinfo folder for a list. Prussian graphics for cavalry & artillery from the 1806 mods have been substituted for the Austrian ones used for Prussians. The troops of Engelhardt were superimposed on those of Mecklenburg in "Augereau's Disaster" & "The Battle of Preussisch-Eylau". Engelhardt's troops have been moved to be around him. V2.1 2 new fog files have been created to simulate snow or a blizzard. The original fog file was a copy of the Austerlitz fog file. To swap fog files edit (using notepad) the required lines to swap the semi colons in config32.cfg in the MapData folder: FogFile=EylauFogSnowy.raw ;;or use: ;;FogFile=EylauFogBlizzard.raw The labels.txt included is now also compatible with ANGV v2.01. menu.txt now included.
