MARENGO for ANGV 14th June 1800 Installation of the Marengo mod for Austerlitz: Napoleon's Greatest Victory. Installing under "unipatched" ANGV v1 Note: If your operating system is set to the default of not displaying common file extensions, you will not see .exe, .zip or .bmp file extensions. The unusual .bag & .bm2 file extensions should be seen. zip files required: ModdedANGVExe.zip GenericANGVScreens1_4.zip or later version StandardANGVsoldiersRepairedV1_8.zip or later version MarengoANGVgraphicsV2.zip MarengoANGVmainV2.zip AustrianMusic.zip Make a copy of your Austerlitz folder or make a new installation of ANGV. Rename the folder MarengoANGV. Unzip ModdedANGVExe.zip into the MarengoANGV folder, overwriting files. (This has the unipatch which adds extra features and also gets rid of Sokolnitz). This contains Austerlitz.exe & JPIEXAe.dll (which is needed for the unipatch to work). If using XP or later, right click on Austerlitz.exe and set the properties to Win98 compatibility. Apply the Artillery patch (AustArtyPatch.exe) if you wish to set the effect of artillery. Unzip the other .zip files, except AustrianMusic.zip, in the above order into the MarengoANGV folder, with "use folder names" and "overwrite existing files" checked and say "yes" to overwriting any files if asked. Add all the .BMP files in the WaterArmy folder to WaterArmy.bag in the graphics folder, using BAGBOY. BAGBOY is "bagboy10.exe" in the installed ANGV folder. If you don't have the BAGBOY program, you can download it from Davros' site http://users.chariot.net.au/~mab/zips/units.html Install it by double clicking on bagboy10.exe and following the installation wizard prompts. If you have BAGBOY installed, double click on WaterArmy.bag, navigate to the WaterArmy subfolder, select "BMP" in the drop down box, click on the 1st file, scroll to the last, hold down 'shift' and click on the last to select them all. Click 'Open". Close the .bag file. Close the .bag file. Add all the .BMP files in the WaterAux folder to WaterAux.bag in the graphics folder. Close the .bag file. Add all the .BMP files in the WaterMap folder to WaterMap.bag in the graphics folder. Close the .bag file. Add all the .BMP files in the WaterMisc folder to WaterMisc.bag in the graphics folder. Close the .bag file. Unzip AustrianMusic.zip into the Sounds folder with "use folder names" NOT checked. (This is because it is also used for the WNLB version). Run AustrianMusicRename.bat in the Sounds folder by double-clicking on it. Run austerlitz.exe from the MarengoANGV folder or make a shortcut on the desktop. You can make a shortcut on the desktop by right clicking on austerlitz.exe, "send to" then "Desktop (create shortcut)". When you have had enough Marengo, delete the MarengoANGV folder & shortcut, no need to restore. This mod is only set up for modded version 1 ANGV. Version 2 is not necessarily better than modded version 1. Version 2 does not have working fog, sunset & sunrise are always for Winter in Bohemia, jump maps must be stretched to fit the standard size and the number of loading screens can't be set to the number available for a mod. It does have extra features but none are used for this mod. The compound at Marengo will only show up in unipatched modded v1 ANGV. If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, see http://greatestbattlesforum.yuku.com/topic/734/Batch-Files-Windows-7 Graeme http://warfare.cf/Greatest_Battles/Greatest_Battles.htm Version 1.1 Portraits included. Hats2 file edited to match. 23/9/09 The Military Order of Marie Theresa replaces the Order of the Golden Fleece for Battle Details Screen (end game). Blue in Grenz crossbelts changed to grey. Elevations changed so that streams flow downhill, ridge added and extra levels added between, above and below existing levels. The sunken road as fortification from Borodino has been used to make the Tete de Pont fortification. Scenmaps added. Portraits and scenmap crosses & arrows added to scenario info files.
