New Map Files For Waterloo: Napoleon's Last Battle 1) I don't like WNLB's random strips of hedges. Except where a tree lined road might turn into a hedge, hedges are used to surround fields so should be quadrilaterals. The pictures of the battlefield at present show un-fenced, un-hedged fields which seem usual from what I have seen of the Tour de France. The bocage of Normandy is the exception rather than the rule. I have removed the hedges from WaterlooTerrain.txt except around La Haye Sainte (haye or haie means hedge), which I have extended, along the Chemin de Haie, and the tree/hedge combinations. I have added a hedge to enclose the north edge of the Jardin de Hougoumont (based on a board game map). 2) I have increased the size and number of fields on the map (WaterlooTerrain.txt). 3) I have changed the graphic for La Belle Alliance from a walled farm to an enlarged version of one of the farm buildings that looks like the actual building (WaterlooBuild.txt & Specials1.bmp). 4) So that Jamin does not appear twice in Water20.scn (Last Triumph of the Eagle) I have replaced the 2nd entry with von Sydow. Cardel is given the same ID as Brandenstein so he will appear twice in the "Last Ditch" variant and Cardel will not. Fixed. 5) Water12.scn has been corrected so that Foy & Gauthier do not appear twice & Jamin does appear in the Grand Assault variant of The Gates of Hougoumont. Version 2 6) Changes made with the Patch 3 beta have been added: Thielemann's Corps & Girard's Div added. French Dragoons are now light/medium cavalry rather than heavy. 7) Unattached cavalry have been given a commander or attached to another brigade so that the AI can use them. 8) "Glory Enough for All" scenario added together with the additions to the OoBs + scenmap. 9) Maida scenario added together with the additions to the OoBs + scenmap. 10) 3 other user made scenarios added- 65, 66 & 67. See scenarios folder for ReadMes. 11) Extra portraits added. 14 July 2010: 12) Scenario 70, Green Valley, by Tirailleur du Po, added. 13) Fantasy battle 48, by Tirailleur du Po, added. Edit waterloo.ini (using notepad) to have a Campaign=48 rather than Campaign=1, to play this. Unzip into your WNLB main folder with "Use Folder Names" and "overwrite files" checked. This puts the .txt files in the MapData folder and the .scn files in the Scenarios folder. Load the file in the WaterMisc folder into WaterMisc.bag using the bagboy utility.
