I have made a new version of the 1st battle of Bull Run/Manassas. It has a new map with the elevations and streams based on a topographical map, the location of important buildings from a park service map and other details from both U.S. and C.S. maps of the period for the 1st & 2nd battles. I have drawn buildings for: Chinn House Dogan House, Groveton Henry House "Portici" Robinson House The Stone House Sudley Mansion Sudley Church The new orders of battle take into account detachments. I have made menu screens, included doubled Union Soldiers by Sullivan & doubled Richmond Grey CSA soldiers by Eric Norris, cavalry by Cleaburne & Rich and artillery by Norris. For flags I have used RVinceD's Stars and Bars and a couple of Michael Hill's. The railroad is by RVinceD. There are 3 full battle scenarios. One is to play as the CSA with difficulty set accordingly and randomization lines with a USA advantage, another similar but to play as the USA and a 3rd with no difficulty levels, variant setups or arrivals and randomization lines with no advantage. To install: (unless you are short of hard disk space) make a copy of your Gettysburg folder and rename it as BullRunSMG. Unzip into the BullRunSMG folder with "Use Folder Names" and "Overwrite Existing Files" checked. Say "yes" if asked to overwrite any read only files. If your operating system is using the default of "hide common extensions" you will not see ".exe" etc. Make a shortcut on the desktop by right clicking on lee.exe, "send to" then "Desktop (create shortcut)". When you have had enough BullRunSMG, delete the BullRunSMG folder & shortcut, no need to restore. Choose historical on the options screen if you wish to ensure a programed scenario. 13 April 2011: Palette for Scenario List Map changed to suit XP & latter Windows Colours.
