This miniature appears in a psalter that is ultimately based on the Carolingian Utrecht Psalter, but like earlier copies, it includes arms and armour in contemporary style. It consists of low, very slightly conical helmets with or without nasals, long-sleeved mail hauberks with ventails drawn tightly across the lower part of the face, and long tapering swords with down-turned quillons.
