Normandy - 1944
The following pages detail the vehicle holdings of a typical Canadian armoured regiment during the Normandy fighting in the summer of 1944. As such, each type and number of vehicle is detailed, however, non-conformity to the rule was not unkown.
For example, while the Sherman III or V is listed as filling the cruiser and control tank requirement, it does not mean that other Sherman types such as the Sherman I were not taken on strength as replacement vehicles. It does appear though, that the regiments were originally equipped exclusively with Sherman Vs in an effort to maintain conformity for ease of service and replenishment.
