A version of waterloo.exe that has been patched (modified) by Massena to handle the larger map size and to remove Hougoumont and add extra features which can be turned on or off in the [Extension] sections of waterloo.ini & ConfigXX.cfg. It has been renamed Penmod.exe. It turns out that this is the only part of a "full installation" of Penmod that is actually needed for other battles. It has an associated .dll (JPIEXWe.dll) which contains the extra program code and which must be present to use Penmod.exe.
