Llywelyn ab Iorwerth (AD 1194 - 1240) married Joan, daughter of King John, but he spent much of his time fighting the English army.
Llywelyn united Wales by finally capturing southern Powys from prince Gwenwynwyn.
This seal impression shows the prince in armour galloping on horseback, he holds a broad sword in his right hand. The seal depicts him as a feudal magnate on a war-horse.
