Cantiga 053 of the Cantigas de Santa Maria of Alfonso X

The Shepherd Boy who was Healed at Soissons
A shepherd boy was inflicted with inflammation of the feet.
His mother took him to Soissons and placed him before the altar.
The boy was cured, and after a year had passed, he asked her to take him back to Soissons. She refused.
The disease returned and she carried him back to Soissons.
The boy had a vision and saw the following: --the Virgin presenting his soul to her Son--the Virgin asking Christ for everyone to be cured of the inflammation--the Virgin telling Christ to rebuild her church at Soissons
When the boy awoke he was well versed in scripture and could read Latin. He told the people to rebuild the church at Soissons and predicted that he would die within thirty days.
