The Virgin, with a great host of saints, appeared to a bishop in a chapel in Auvergne.
St John asked her who would sing the mass and she replied that the bishop would perform it.
The Virgin told the bishop to say the mass, and explained that the Sts would sing the respond since they did it faultlessly.
The bishop asked for some vestments and the Virgin supplied them.
St Peter, acting as sacristan, rang the bell and mass was sung. The bishop blessed the bread and wine.
Before departing, the Virgin told the bishop to keep the vestments.
