Download the version 3 patch for SMG as a plain .zip file rather than as a self extracting file which may be problematic on XP, Vista or Windows 7.
Playing Guides
Installation for Win ME/98/95
If autorun of the CD gives a Kernel32.dll error then run setup from the CD.
Installation for Win XP or later

If the game crashes with an error message on the Preferences screen, make sure you have the new version of LABELS.TXT that comes with Patch 3 in the Gettysburg folder.
